Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for an outpatient clinic position in Pennsylvania, with a diverse orthopedic and neurological patient caseload and flexibility for first-time travelers.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting located directly across the street from the hospital
• Clinic typically staffs 3-5 PTs and 3-4 PTAs per day, supported by 3-4 front desk staff, as well as OT and speech therapy colleagues on-site
• Patient mix includes orthopedics, neurology, pain management, pediatrics, concussion, vertigo, and aquatic therapy
• Schedule involves working until 6:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with flexibility on remaining hours; options include 3 longer days plus one 8-hour day with Tuesday or Friday off, or five 8-hour days with later start times
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active PA state PT license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience
• Outpatient clinic experience required
• Orthopedic skills required, including ankle sprains; preferred skills include cervicalgia, DDD, DJD, elbow injuries/tendinopathy, extremity mobilization, frozen shoulder, gait training, hip fractures/injuries, knee injuries/tendinopathy, low back pain, osteoarthritis, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, sciatica, spinal conditions, THR, and TKR
• Preferred experience with geriatric, neurological, orthopedic, and sports medicine patient populations
• Proficiency in assessment (AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing), documentation (evaluations, plan of care, long-term goals, reassessments, discharge), and time management
• Skills in home exercise program development and patient/family education
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• PA fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania; candidates should be prepared to begin the fingerprinting and Childline registration process promptly upon signing a contract
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract
• Any previous permanent employment at this health system must be disclosed; former permanent or per diem employees must have been away for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• The clinic will accommodate therapists who are not comfortable with certain patient populations or procedures
