Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week travel contract performing mammography imaging services, including DEXA scans and remote diagnostic studies.

Details

• Mammography unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Performs mammography imaging, DEXA scans, and remote diagnostic studies (radiology overviews off-site)
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• No weekend or holiday shifts
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience
• ARRT certification in Radiology required prior to hire
• Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification (TDSHS) required prior to hire
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Completion of a federally approved 40-hour mammography training course and 25 supervised mammography studies required within 90 days of hire to meet TDSHS requirements
• ARRT certification in Mammography preferred
• License required if applicable
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Operates mammography equipment and performs various mammography-related procedures including patient positioning and selection of anatomic and technical parameters
• Educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health
• Evaluates images for technical quality including density, contrast, definition, and distortion
• Ensures timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data
• Monitors equipment functionality and reports malfunctions or potential issues to appropriate personnel
• Follows radiation safety procedures and standard precautions using required PPE
• Requires critical thinking and decisive judgment with the ability to work independently in a stressful environment
