Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a small critical access hospital in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and an active HI RN license.

Details

• Small critical access hospital setting with no separate units — RNs cover the ER, acute, and long-term care (LTC) areas
• Primary assignment in the Emergency Department, with backup coverage in acute and LTC areas when the ER census is low
• When assigned to the med floor, RN will be responsible for passing medications and performing procedures for both LTC and acute patients
• Schedule: 6x12-hour shifts per two-week period (72 hours bi-weekly) with every 3rd weekend off
• Not a latex-free facility

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Must be comfortable working across multiple care settings including ER, acute, and LTC

Additional Information

• Orientation process begins in Hilo with HR and Employee Health clearance at Hilo Medical Center, followed by travel to the facility to complete initial paperwork and receive orientation materials
• This is a 13-week travel contract
