Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a regional tertiary care facility, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to float to Mother Baby as needed.

Details

Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
Regional tertiary care unit supporting local obstetric needs and receiving transfers from outlying hospitals
Unit consists of 14 L&D beds, 6 triage beds, 2 ORs, 2 recovery beds, and 2 high-risk antepartum beds
Low-risk and high-risk obstetrics patient population, including patients seeking minimal intervention as well as those with major complications
Night shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekday and every other weekend availability required
Floating to Mother Baby unit required as needed when not needed on L&D
Documents in Cerner (experience required), Surginet, and Fetallink

Requirements

Active WV or compact RN license required; pending state license accepted
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
Circulating experience in an OR setting required
Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IV start skills required
Triage and scrub skills are a plus
Cerner EMR experience required
Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical documentation required for exemption

Additional Information

Nurses collaborate with midwives and physicians to support the full spectrum of childbirth experiences
No blocked schedule requests will be accommodated
Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for those residing 75–99 miles away
Former permanent employees of this health system must have a gap of at least 2 years since their last day of permanent employment to be eligible
First-time travelers may be considered depending on years of experience
Royal blue scrubs required
COVID vaccine is not required
