Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum/Nursery position at an acute care hospital in Hays, KS, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a Kansas or compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a 149-bed acute care Level 3 Trauma hospital
- Unit covers Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery
- Patient ratio is 1:3
- Primarily manages deliveries at greater than 34 weeks' gestation; goal is to transfer patients under 34 weeks prior to delivery, though staff are equipped to stabilize and transfer infants to a higher level of care if needed
- Uses Meditech for charting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling of more than 3 or 4 consecutive shifts is not available
- Scrubs are provided for L&D
Requirements
- Active Kansas or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 45 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
