Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit position in Kalamazoo, MI, requiring ACLS and at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit in a hospital setting
• Primary cardiac telemetry unit where the majority of patients are on continuous cardiac monitors, with remote telemetry room oversight and close unit monitoring
• Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and overflow medical patients
• Nurses on this unit administer cardiac drips
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5-6, though ratios may reach 1:7 during call-ins
• Charting is done in Cerner PowerChart
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (1900–0730)
• Every other weekend is required
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 assigned holidays
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• The unit is actively onboarding travelers to help manage workload during call-ins, and is also in the process of hiring PCTs for additional support
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
