Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a rural Arizona facility serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities, requiring at least 3 years of ER experience and multiple certifications.

• Emergency Department (ER) setting within a JCAHO-accredited regional health center
• Serves a 4,400 square mile area, functioning as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
• Provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient emergency services to patients of all ages
• 73-bed hospital with a diverse medical staff including surgeons, internists, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, psychiatrists, and multiple specialists
• Flexible scheduling across days, evenings, nights, and weekends
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license from any U.S. state (AZ state license not required)
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, and TNCC
• NRP required within 1 year of hire
• TNCC and ENPC required within 1 year of hire if not currently held
• NIHSS must be completed within 6 months of hire if not currently held
• Emergency Severity Index Level 5 certification required within 3 months of hire
• COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions may be considered upon submission of a declination form)

• Provides nursing care requiring professional judgment across a wide range of patient conditions, age groups, and treatment plans
• Works within physician orders, standards of care, and hospital nursing policies and procedures
• Orientation is conducted on a bi-weekly cycle
• This facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau
• Limited housing is available through the facility at $600/month, based on availability — no family members or pets are permitted in housing units
• A housing application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the start date
• Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but the rural setting and multi-certification requirements suggest experienced travelers are preferred
