Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience in a similarly sized facility and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit (10CD Intermediate Coronary Care) within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Cardiac patient population including STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, and chest pain cases
- Patient ratio of 1:3–4
- Cardiac drip management required, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors
- May be assigned to telemetry beds within the same unit at lower acuity levels
- Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similarly sized facility
- Documented PCU experience must be reflected in work history
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and diverse cases required
- Background in large-scale trauma or high-pressure clinical settings required

- Manage cardiac patients requiring drip titration and close hemodynamic monitoring in a fast-paced intermediate care setting
- This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex, high-volume cases — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals may not be a strong fit for this environment
