Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Pulmonary/Renal position at an academic medical center in Albany, NY, requiring Epic EMR proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Pulmonary/Renal unit (E5) within a large academic medical center setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR experience is required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• 1 year of experience at a 600+ bed academic hospital accepted with a passing competency test score
• Epic EMR experience required — candidates without it will not be considered
• All certifications (BLS, etc.) must be from AHA or RQI
• Active US Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be honored

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to pulmonary and renal patient populations on a Med/Surg unit
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Candidates with less than 2 years of Med/Surg experience must pass a competency test (2 attempts allowed); those with 2+ years are exempt from testing
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• More than 3 call-outs in a 13-week period may result in contract termination; make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this position
