Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CCU/LTACH position requiring MS/Tele experience within the last year, with ACLS and BLS certifications, at a Level II Trauma and Stroke Center in St. Joseph, MO.

Details

• Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting within a 352-bed Level II Trauma and Stroke Center
• High-acuity patient population including post-open heart surgery, cystic fibrosis, vent weaning, pulmonary fibrosis, and a high volume of sepsis and wound-related cases
• Patient population ranges from med-surg level to intubated/trached ventilator-dependent patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Self-scheduling format
• Floating required
• Every third weekend required (approximately 8 weekend shifts per contract)
• Charting via Epic
• Free on-site parking
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate if residing within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required; pending license acceptable but must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• MS, PCU, or Telemetry experience within the last year required
• BSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for high-acuity LTACH patients, including those requiring vent weaning, tracheostomy management, and complex wound care
• ICU nurses are frequently floated to the LTACH unit due to the elevated acuity of the patient population
• Facility is the only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha, supporting a broad regional patient base
• Epic EMR experience is beneficial given its use for charting
