Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg PCU night shift position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring at least 5 years of experience and the ability to perform charge nurse duties.

Details

• Work setting is a critical access hospital with 25 beds
• Combined Med/Surg, PCU, and telemetry unit
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating to other units required based on need
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• Critical access hospital, PCU, or telemetry Med/Surg experience required
• Ability to work independently and perform charge nurse duties required

Additional Information

• Candidate must attend department quarterly education sessions
• Personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation in the area is very limited
• The hospital is located in Newport, VT, a small town on the Canadian border in the Northeast Kingdom region, known for outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
