Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel assignment in Sierra Vista, AZ, requiring at least 1 year of experience and telemetry skills.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg unit in a 177,000 sq ft hospital located in southeastern Arizona, 75 miles southeast of Tucson
- 34-bed unit serving a mixed patient population including geriatric, adult, and occasional pediatric patients (peds not assigned to travelers)
- Patient types include telemetry, surgical, and general medical cases
- Patient ratio of 6:1
- Equipment includes Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, and telemetry monitors
- EMR: Cerner
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Must occasionally work weekends on the same shift schedule (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
- On-call required only when unit is understaffed or census is low
- Floating may include coverage for inpatient holds
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required; 2+ years preferred for travel positions
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience beneficial
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provide general medical, surgical, and telemetry nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
- Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Scrubs in any color are acceptable; closed-toe shoes required — no other attire permitted for clinical staff
- Every other weekend coverage required
