Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC, requiring a SC or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of OR experience.
Details
- Work setting is an acute care hospital (304 staffed beds) in Columbia, SC
- Unit: Operating Room
- Schedule: Day shift, 4x10s (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- No weekend requirement
- On-call required up to one day per week; weekday call begins at 5:00 PM
- No floating required within or between units or sister facilities
- Charting: Epic
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided for OR staff
- Free parking is available via a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; garage clearance is suited for average-sized SUVs and trucks
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting
- Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- A radiation badge is required for this role and must be provided by the agency
- Completion of online modules is required prior to the start of the assignment
- Epic EMR experience is beneficial for this role
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position, depending on experience
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted; non-local candidates are given priority
- Candidates and staff should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
