Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a rural, culturally diverse healthcare facility in Northwestern Arizona, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

• Operating room setting within a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities in a rural, 73-bed hospital
• Perioperative patient population across multiple surgical specialties including orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, general surgery, ophthalmology, and dental
• Expected to circulate in all specialty areas; scrubbing experience is highly encouraged
• Approximately 49% of surgeries performed are outpatient/ambulatory procedures
• 10-hour day shifts, 6:30am–5:00pm, 4 shifts per week
• On-call required, with the possibility of working varied or odd hours and responding to emergency cases on short notice

Requirements

• Valid, active, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth accepted (AZ state license not required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing and/or OR experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• PALS (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire
• CNOR certification required within 1 year of hire
• TNCC required within 2 years of hire
• Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides perioperative nursing care encompassing assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning and evaluation of interventions based on patient outcomes
• Staff includes a broad multidisciplinary team of surgeons, specialists, nurse practitioners, CRNAs, and allied health professionals
• Must be prepared to respond to emergency surgical cases on very short notice when on call
• Orientation is held on a rolling basis every 2 weeks
• COVID-19 vaccination required; flu vaccination required — exemptions may be considered upon submission of a declination form
• Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
• Facility-provided housing may be available at $600/month (shared units, subject to availability); no family members or pets permitted, and housing is not guaranteed — a housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start
• This position is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau; candidates should be prepared for a remote living environment
