Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with RTR(M) certification for a Breast Imaging department performing 15–20 exams per tech per day across 4 mammography rooms and a mobile van.

Details

• Breast Imaging unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Robust mammography department with 4 dedicated mammography rooms and a mobile van
• Caseload of approximately 15–20 exams per technologist per day
• Procedures include screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, stereotactic biopsy, and Bone Density (DXA) exams
• Day shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of mammography experience required
• ARRT (or NMTCB) certification required
• RTR(M) — mammography specialty certification required
• SCRQSA certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, stereotactic biopsy, and DXA (Bone Density) exams independently following orientation
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers and confirm correct exam orders prior to each procedure
• Ensure all images are successfully transmitted to PACS and meet quality standards before forwarding to the radiologist
• Maintain documentation in compliance with MQSA standards and facility policy
• Provide patient education by explaining procedures, expectations, and desired outcomes to reduce patient anxiety
