Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ER/ICC position at an oncology-focused hospital, requiring 2 years of ER experience, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Position is based in a hospital ER and an Immediate Care Center (ICC) with floating required between both units as needed
  • The ICC is a smaller, less acute unit serving hematology, oncology, and sickle cell patients presenting with both urgent and non-urgent conditions
  • Common patient diagnoses include sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, uncontrolled pain, anemia, and nausea/vomiting/dehydration
  • Most ICC patients are discharged home, though some are admitted to the main hospital
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • Epic EMR experience is required

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Nurses in the ICC have the opportunity to develop a broad range of clinical skills while building lasting relationships with oncology patients in a less acute setting
  • The ICC is a smaller unit with a collaborative team environment and strong staff relationships
  • ICC patients may arrive from other areas of the hospital (e.g., radiation or infusion) or directly from home, based on referrals from their primary team or oncologist
  • No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs)
  • All time off and scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront at the time of submission
  • 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
  • A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
