Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, Labor & Delivery unit with 19 beds
- Cares for L&D, postpartum mom/baby, and gyn surgical postop patients, including high-risk cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, up to 1:5-6 for combined mom/baby and gyn assignments
- Floating required to newborn nursery and NICU as needed
- Equipment includes fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors; OBIX used for L&D documentation and centralized monitoring
- Epic EMR used for gyn charting
- 12-hour night shifts with some day shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active ND or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- STABLE certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in L&D required; experience in postpartum/mother-baby and gyn care also required
- Fetal monitoring experience required
- 2 current references required: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years
- All certifications must be active at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted
- Active RN license required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include nursing care during labor and delivery (including high-risk patients), postpartum mom and baby care, and gyn surgical postop care
- 36-hour orientation provided
- Navy blue scrubs required for gyn and mom/baby care; hospital-provided scrubs for L&D
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must disclose this; prior Sanford employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to the date of consideration
- Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Any requested time off during the assignment should be noted at the time of consideration
