Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) position located within a recently expanded Emergency Department, requiring a minimum of 2 years of progressive care experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 6-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) physically located within the Emergency Department, but serving a separate patient population
• Patient population includes a mix of observation patients and placement-need patients, with varying acuity and diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Floating to equivalent experience departments is optional, not required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a progressive level of care setting such as PCU, ICU, or ED; candidates with 2–5 years of combined Med/Surg and Telemetry experience will also be considered
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront for consideration

• Provide transitional care nursing to a mixed-acuity patient population including observation and placement-need patients
• Unit is situated within a recently expanded Emergency Department but operates independently from ED patient care
• 13-week contract
