Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II with a minimum of 2 years of cath/EP lab experience and proficiency scrubbing across a full range of cardiac, vascular, structural heart, and EP procedures.

Details

  • Work in a hospital-based Cath/EP Lab setting
  • Procedures include diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations, peripheral vascular, structural heart, and EP procedures (ablations, pacemaker implants, ICD implants)
  • Equipment includes fluoroscopy systems, intravascular ultrasound, Doppler velocimetry, extraction devices (Angiojet, Rotoblator, laser revascularization), and ACT/cardiac output monitoring systems
  • Merge Hemo documentation system experience preferred
  • Full-time schedule, weekdays 6:30 AM–5:00 PM with one variable weekday off per week
  • On-call required: 1 weekend per month (Friday 5:00 PM–Monday 6:30 AM) and 4 weeknights per month (5:00 PM–6:30 AM next day)
  • No weekend shifts required outside of on-call rotation
  • 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cath/EP lab
  • Must be able to scrub for all types of heart caths, peripheral vascular, structural heart, and EP procedures
  • Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Sciences program (Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac/Vascular Sonography, or equivalent)
  • RCIS or RCES preferred; ARRT (with CI or VI) accepted with cath lab scrub experience performing heart caths with intervention
  • Active MI license required for consideration
  • BLS (AHA) required; ACLS (AHA) required
  • Ability to scrub in a sterile environment for extended periods while wearing lead aprons up to 5 lbs
  • Ability to assist with patient transfers and transport with team assistance
  • 2 references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include monitoring diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, performing cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements, and recognizing and responding to lethal arrhythmias per ACLS standards
  • Role involves identifying coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections, interpreting cardiac pressure waveforms, and calculating hemodynamic parameters
  • Assists with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff and may participate in relevant committees or special projects
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac medications (generic and trade names), pharmacokinetics, and proper documentation of indications and dosages
  • Candidates should be comfortable working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Online orientation modules must be completed onsite and passed prior to start, typically one week before the start date
  • COVID vaccination is required to work at this facility
  • RTO requests should be submitted prior to assignment start; requests made after an offer is extended will be reviewed with management once the assignment begins
