Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring a minimum of 2 years of IR experience, including Cath Lab proficiency, with on-call responsibilities and scrub/circulate skills.
Details
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Department lab hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with 24/7 call coverage for STEMI, emergent, and urgent IR and cardiology procedures
- Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3–4
- Department consists of interventional radiology, invasive cardiology, peripheral vascular, and EP device implant procedures — approximately 85% IR and 15% cardiology
- All staff rotate weekly to provide procedure coverage across all services
- On-call requirement: weekday call runs 4:00 PM–7:30 AM the following morning; weekend call runs Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM; schedule includes two call weeks per month, one call weekend per month, and one week with no call following the call weekend; occasional additional call may be required on an evenly distributed basis
- Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time is determined by procedure type
- Call team consists of three staff members, one of whom is an RN
- No floating required
- Specialized equipment includes MAC Lab, IVUS, Toshiba Angio Lab, Angio Jet, Penumbra Thrombectomy System, CSI, Atherectomy System, Bovi System for Implants, Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sonosite, and S2000 Ultrasound Unit
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- IR (Interventional Radiology) experience required
- Cath Lab experience required
- Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating required
- Prior STEMI call experience required
- Preferred skills include IV starts, triage, PA lines, and conscious sedation
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- State Board of Nursing license verification and NURSYS verification required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for interventional radiology, invasive cardiology, peripheral vascular, and EP device implant procedures
- Orientation is 16 hours
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- An interview with the hiring manager is required prior to any offer being extended
- RTO (time off requests) after booking are not permitted and cannot be arranged on-site; call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation
