Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position at a short-term acute care hospital in Missouri, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Float pool position covering Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Neuro, Cardiology, and Renal units
- Short-term acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratios: 1:5–6 on days/weekends, 1:6 on nights
- Float pool workers call in to a recorded line up to 1 hour before shift start to receive their unit assignment; pre-assignment to a specific unit for a portion of the contract is possible and will be communicated in advance
- Every other weekend required, or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday)
- Holiday rotation required
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR used; prior Epic experience strongly preferred
- Equipment includes lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanners (lift device training provided)
- Free parking available
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required; pending IL license candidates may be considered (please note at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, IV insertion proficiency, and telemetry competency
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
