Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at an academic medical center, requiring Epic EMR experience and ACLS certification for a 13-week day shift contract.

Details

• 12-bed critical care unit specializing in neurological and neurosurgical patients
• Patient population includes central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and CNS infections
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Floating required in accordance with facility float policy
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license; pending VA license will be accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required; candidates may be considered with certification pending
• Neuro ICU or neurological/neurosurgical critical care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides intensive nursing care to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must allow 12 months to pass before returning as a traveler
