Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring PICC line management experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• 23-bed Medical Surgical unit within a 562-bed Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, starting at 18:45
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope is required, including to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Block scheduling available — connect with the manager to discuss
• Cerner used for charting (experience preferred)
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; candidates actively in the application process with an ETA will also be considered
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required; AHA and Red Cross cards accepted (RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• PICC line management and IV start experience required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is ideal; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable

• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required
