Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at an acute care facility in Nebraska, requiring a minimum of 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience and a Nebraska or compact RN license.

Details

• 32-bed acute care facility where Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU patients are all housed in the same unit area
• Med/Surg patient population including total joint replacement and abdominal surgical procedure patients
• Wound VACs are utilized on this unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for Med/Surg and 1:4 for PCU
• Night shift schedule: 1845–0715 or 0645–1915 (4x12-hour shifts)
• Floating to the PCU may be required for qualified candidates
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Nebraska or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with total joint replacements required
• Experience with abdominal surgical procedures required
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• This is a newer facility, having been open for approximately 2 years
• Traveler orientation consists of a 4-hour general orientation, an afternoon shadowing a floor nurse, and 1 shift with floor staff before working independently
• Scrub color requirement: Pewter Grey or Light Turquoise
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
