Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN Circulator Educator for a 13-week travel contract requiring a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, 3 years of OR experience, and CNOR certification.
Details
- Hospital-based position within the Clinical Education Department
- Focuses on clinical staff education and training for OR and related departments
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Works closely with Quality Management team and department managers across the system to identify and address educational opportunities
Requirements
- Active Oregon RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS (HCP), ACLS, PALS, and CNOR
- Minimum of 5 years of hospital nursing experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of OR experience required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required (national certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of BSN with VP of Nursing approval and a commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years)
- MSN strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including English grammar, punctuation, and proofreading
- Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM accurately
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems helpful
Additional Information
- Responsible for delivering clinical education and training programs to hospital staff, with a focus on clinical personnel
- Acts as a resource for healthcare education and training across departments
- Introduces technical and theoretical concepts using a variety of teaching techniques, including simulation training with mannequins and simulation software
- Collaborates with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators to develop and support educational initiatives
- Supports continuous quality improvement efforts in partnership with the Quality Management team
- Evaluates training programs and participant learning outcomes, making adjustments as needed
- Experience developing and delivering courses, including direct instruction and evaluation of learning outcomes, is preferred
- Familiarity with teaching theories, learning models, and simulation-based education is preferred
