Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist (Vascular IR) with at least 1 year of IR or Cath Lab experience, holding active ARRT and Oregon OBMI licensure, for a 13-week day shift contract.
Details
- Hospital-based Interventional Radiology/Cardiology department performing diagnostic and interventional vascular and non-vascular procedures, as well as cardiac catheterization (excluding EP and structural components)
- Procedures include fluoroscopic and catheter-based vascular interventions using fixed fluoroscopy equipment, portable ultrasound, and IVUS
- Charting and charge entry performed in Epic
- 3x12-hour day shifts per week
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab, including fluoroscopy operation and scrubbing interventional cases
- 3+ years of experience preferred, including competency in the monitor/hemodynamic role
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; BS in Radiologic Science or Medical Imaging preferred
- Active ARRT certification with RT(R) designation required
- Current Oregon State licensure issued by OBMI required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Specialty certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Experience with fixed fluoroscopy, portable ultrasound, and IVUS
- Ability to perform scrub, imaging, and hemodynamic monitor roles
Additional Information
- Rotates through three core roles depending on assignment: imaging technologist (fluoroscopy operation, PACS, radiation safety), scrub technologist (sterile technique, instrument prep, physician assist), and monitor technologist (hemodynamic data recording, procedural documentation, physiological monitoring)
- Performs peri-procedure duties including patient prep, positioning, timeout verification, sheath pulls, and vascular access management
- Collaborates with nursing and physicians on contrast allergy identification and management, including participation in pre-procedure discussions regarding contrast agent selection
- Supports department operations including supply management, room turnover, equipment checks, and radiation dose tracking
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Culturally diverse patient population; ability to provide age-specific, culturally sensitive care is essential
