Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Oregon, requiring at least one year of critical care, ED, cath lab, or IR experience with active ACLS and BLS certifications.
Details
- Hospital-based Interventional Radiology/Cardiology unit
- Patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures including angiography, embolization, and cardiac catheterization
- Day shift schedule: 9:00 AM ā 5:30 PM, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- On-call responsibilities for the Interventional Unit as needed
- RN may be assigned to circulator, moderate sedation monitoring, scrub, hemodynamic monitoring, or team support roles depending on daily needs
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in critical care, ED, cath lab, or IR required
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
- IV certification required
- Proficiency with infusion pumps, PCA pumps, hemodynamic monitoring systems (ECG, O2 sat), and physiological monitoring equipment
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 3 years of IR or cath lab experience preferred
- Conscious sedation training and monitor role experience preferred
- Specialty certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
Additional Information
- Administer medications including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast media, and emergency drugs per physician orders
- When assigned to the moderate sedation role, the RN must maintain continual patient assessment and may not engage in tasks that would compromise monitoring
- When assigned to the scrub role, prepares and organizes sterile instruments, guidewires, catheters, sheaths, embolic materials, and procedural trays while anticipating physician needs
- When assigned to the monitor role, records hemodynamic data, pressures, and procedural events and communicates real-time findings to the procedural team
- Collaborates with radiology techs and physicians to identify and address contrast allergies or sensitivities, including participation in pre-procedure discussions and timeout communications
- Performs sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed
- Supports department operations including supply management, room turnover, and equipment maintenance (ultrasound, IVUS, etc.)
- Works with a culturally diverse patient population; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
