Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - First Assist (RNFA) for an OR position requiring a minimum of 3 years of OR experience and proficiency in orthopedic, GYN, and general surgery.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with start times of either 6:30 AM or 8:30 AM
• Operating Room setting in an acute care facility
• Surgical specialties include orthopedics, orthopedic total joint replacements, GYN, and general surgery
• One night of call required per week

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, must be unrestricted with no prior license hits
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and CNOR
• PALS (AHA) preferred
• Completion of an approved didactic RNFA course required
• Minimum 3 years of scrub and circulate experience in an acute care OR
• Experience must include orthopedics, orthopedic total joints, GYN, and general surgery
• Recent experience required — must have worked in OR specialty within the last 3 months
• Current Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) required
• Annual surgeon review required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• Two supervisory references required: one from within the past year and one from within the past two years

Additional Information

• Candidate functions as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) across orthopedic, GYN, and general surgery cases
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days — candidates exceeding this threshold will not be considered
• A completed specialty-specific skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
