Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in New York, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency, with day shift and every-other-weekend coverage.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, chest pain rule-out, CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratios: 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, 1:8 on weekends
• Every-other-weekend coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and peripheral IV placement and maintenance
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and non-invasive airway management
• Familiarity with Rapid Response and Code team protocols
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Any color nursing uniform is acceptable
