Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced LDRP RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a short-term acute care, Level III trauma, teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring at least 2 years of LDRP experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work setting is a short-term acute care, Level III trauma center and teaching hospital with 167 staffed beds
• Unit cares for low to moderate risk laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients and their newborns
• Unit includes 2 triage rooms where nurses triage their own patients and perform MSEs
• Nurses circulate and recover their own C-sections from an in-unit OR suite and private rooms
• Schedule is 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Weekend availability is required
• Floating within the hospital is required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• No floating to sister or affiliate hospitals
• No on-call requirements
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs are provided for OR; no printed scrubs allowed

Requirements

• Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
• Triage experience required
• Newborn transition and baby nursing experience required
• Must be comfortable initiating NRP for low-to-moderate risk deliveries, including starting CPAP and PPV independently until additional support arrives
• IV start skills required
• Ability to circulate C-sections required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Charge RN experience preferred but not required
• Two manager or supervisor references from the past 24 months required (Charge RN references are not acceptable)
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this health system must have a reference completed by the OHSU manager who supervised them
• Candidates must have been gone for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO is limited to 1 week maximum and must be disclosed upfront
• Contract length is 13 weeks with the option to extend up to 26 weeks for interested candidates
