Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring Epic proficiency, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and a valid FL or compact RN license.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required, or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period based on unit needs
- No on-call requirements
- Traveler will have a home base unit but may float to other units or facilities within the health system (Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera)
- Epic EMR experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active FL state or compact RN license required — pending licenses not accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or relevant RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last year required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked an internal contracted position must wait at least 1 year after separation before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restriction
- All time-off requests must be submitted upfront; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Flu vaccine required between 10/31 and 3/31; medical and religious exemptions accepted
- Time and attendance tracked via Kronos using a badge swipe system
- Free parking provided with a decal issued at orientation
- Scrub dress code: solid color required — tops and bottoms must match; no logos or prints permitted
