Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring telemetry monitoring experience and Epic proficiency, with float requirements across all system facilities.
Details
- Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
- Specializes in stroke (neuro) patient population alongside patients with multiple co-morbidities
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
- Telemetry remote monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
- Procedures include feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, central line care and management, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, and IV starts
- Additional clinical skills include CVA management, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound VAC
- Epic EMR — experience is mandatory
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
- Floating is required between all system facilities
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Telemetry remote monitoring experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All RNs must pass a pass/fail EKG exam during compliance, regardless of specialty — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
