Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in rehab and neurological patients, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Specialized rehabilitation unit serving patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, neurological diagnoses, post-stroke, post-aneurysm, post-op surgical, and generalized debility
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required between all health system campuses as needed
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Skills required include interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, vital signs assessment, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine), phlebotomy, and telephone triage
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to rehabilitation patients with neurological and post-surgical diagnoses
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
