Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of travel experience and recent ER experience.
Details
- Work setting is a short-term acute care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center
- Emergency Department (ER) unit
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend work required as needed
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may be required, though cross-campus floating is rare
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER travel nursing experience required (3+ years preferred)
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience preferred
- Must be willing to work 48 hours when needed
- Current Driver's License required for consideration
- Candidate must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted unless the candidate has 3+ years of recent ER experience and at least one completed prior travel assignment
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO will not be approved if not included at the time of initial consideration
- If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 of those holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
- An ADN is the minimum required education level for this position
- Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Vaccination status must be provided for consideration
- Start times are subject to change based on permanent staff scheduling
