Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a travel assignment at a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital in New Mexico.
Details
- Inpatient and outpatient nuclear medicine department within a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds
- Department includes 4 general rooms, 1 SPECT/CT room, and 2 PET/CT rooms
- Primary patient population is adults and geriatrics; experience with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents is preferred
- Procedures include diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging such as cardiac, bone scan, HIDA, MUGA, renogram, liver/spleen, and infection imaging
- SPECT/CT procedures include infection imaging, MIBG, whole-body I-123 and I-131 imaging, and Y-90 imaging
- PET/CT procedures include FDG, Dotatate, and PSMA scanning
- Therapies include I-131, Xofigo, and Lutathera
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Minimal on-call requirement; call hours are 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday–Friday and 24 hours on weekends
- No floating within the department or to sister facilities
- Charting performed in Cerner
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of nuclear medicine technologist experience
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification required; ARRT(R) required
- Current BLS required
- NM State License required if applicable; pending state license accepted
- PET license preferred
- Proficiency in IV starts, phlebotomy, PACS, and peripheral IV placement and maintenance
- Experience with storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
- Experience with cardiac, bone scan, brain scan, liver/spleen scan, lung scan, renal flow, shunt studies, thyroid studies, tumor localization, SPECT, and myocardial imaging
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider

- Requested time off exceeding 7 days requires prior approval; all scheduling requests should be submitted at the time of application
- All time off and scheduling requests must be disclosed at the time of initial consideration
- Hunter green scrubs required
- Free parking on-site
- A 6-month break is required for travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached the 1-year mark at this facility, whichever comes first
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
