Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Level I Trauma ICU in a short-term acute care setting at a Magnet and Teaching Hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Rotating shift schedule, typically alternating 3 weeks of days and 3 weeks of nights (Day: 7:00–19:30, Night: 19:00–7:30)
- 3x12-hour shifts per week; option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Arterial line, central line, and PICC line management performed in this unit
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required (IL candidates may apply with a pending IL license)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Trauma ICU experience required; Level I Trauma and/or teaching facility experience preferred
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam prior to starting
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Parking is available at the facility for a fee
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract period; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
