Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Trauma ICU unit within a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 1,273 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Rotating shift schedule, typically alternating 3 weeks of days and 3 weeks of nights (3x12-hour shifts); day shift 7:00–19:30, night shift 19:00–7:30
• Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting done in Epic; Epic experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Trauma ICU experience required; Level I trauma center experience preferred
• Experience at a teaching facility preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management required
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract period; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Travel RNs may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
• Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• IL-licensed candidates may be submitted with a pending IL license
