Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Trauma ICU unit within a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 1,273 staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Rotating shift schedule, typically alternating 3 weeks of days and 3 weeks of nights (3x12-hour shifts); day shift 7:00–19:30, night shift 19:00–7:30
- Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting done in Epic; Epic experience required
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Trauma ICU experience required; Level I trauma center experience preferred
- Experience at a teaching facility preferred
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management required
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract period; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travel RNs may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- IL-licensed candidates may be submitted with a pending IL license
