Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist at a Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center in Bangor, ME, with OR/C-arm experience and ARRT(R) certification required.
Details
- Work in an imaging department with 3 X-ray rooms: 2 general X-ray rooms and 1 fluoroscopy room, plus OR C-arm coverage and inpatient portable imaging
- Care areas include outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, Med/Surg), and the operating room
- Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric and neonatal cases
- Procedures include fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, ortho and ortho trauma imaging, ICU, Med/Surg, and ER imaging
- Equipment includes Siemens Ysio, Siemens Multix Fusion, Siemens Artis Zee fluoroscopy unit, OEC/Siemens/Ziehm C-arms in the OR, and Shimadzu DR portable units
- EMR is Cerner; PACS is Enterprise Imaging AGFA
- 36 hours per week on a variable schedule
- Weekend rotation varies based on departmental need
- No call required
- Holidays are covered on a rotating basis with other techs
Requirements
- ARRT(R) certification required
- Current BLS required
- Active compact or Maine state license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum of 1 year of radiology technologist experience required, depending on type of experience
- OR/C-arm experience required
- Experience with outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, Med/Surg), and OR patient populations required
- Full SSN required for consideration
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 references within the past year required for consideration, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge tech (peer references not accepted)
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles south/southwest of the facility
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity are not eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Travelers living 100+ miles north of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval
- Level II Trauma Center serving approximately two-thirds of the state of Maine; closest trauma center within a 2-hour radius
- Certified Stroke Center with 411 beds
- Department support includes a lead tech, department administration, internal transport, and an on-site radiologist
- Orientation is 1 to 1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
- Schedules are built on a 4-week rotation to the best of the department's ability; specific shifts vary based on need
- All RTO requires manager approval and must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; facility scrubs are available if needed
- Free parking available on site
