Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level III Trauma facility, requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a Level III Trauma facility
• 24-bed unit with telemetry capability on all beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights (acuity-based)
• Charting system: Sunrise Allscripts
• Floating required to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for Med/Surg overflow patients)
• Support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services available 24/7
• No IV team on unit

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Strong neuro and cardiac clinical skills required
• Allscripts EMR experience beneficial

Additional Information

• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs in any color except all-black; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• 13-week contract with 12-hour night shifts
