Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU/Stepdown (8SE Neuro) position requiring active OH or compact RN license, neuro/stroke experience, and ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting, specifically the 8SE Neuro unit
- Intermediate-level care unit with 32 beds, including neuro/stroke patient population
- Cardiac drips administered on the unit
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on days
- 12-hour day shifts
- Epic EHR used (training preferred)
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required (study guide available)
- Neuro/stroke experience preferred
- Proof of address document required for consideration (valid Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Income Tax return, Military Form DD-2058, or W2 from the US government)
- 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, creating and implementing plans of care, administering medications, and evaluating treatment effectiveness
- Manages care of patients with chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, transvenous/temporary pacing, and conscious sedation
- Serves as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
- Anticipates and responds to rapidly changing patient conditions using clinical judgment
- Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guide will be provided
