Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and a current Oregon license for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment, with pediatric experience highly preferred.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Speech-Language Pathology department
- Serves both pediatric and adult patient populations
- Treats speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, dysphagia, hearing, and oral motor disorders
- Inpatient and outpatient caseload
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
- 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Current Oregon Speech-Language Pathology license (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred; CFYs may be considered
- Hospital experience preferred but not required
- Experience with both adult and pediatric populations preferred
- Feeding and dysphagia skills are a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using appropriate techniques or mechanical aids
- Sufficient auditory, visual, and tactile abilities to perform clinical assessments and patient care tasks
Additional Information
- Evaluates and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders across pediatric and adult populations
- Collaborates as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and participates in coordinated care sessions
- Documents patient care using SOAP note format
- Conducts swallowing evaluations and applies dysphagia treatment techniques
- CRASE training preferred; required if the assignment extends beyond 6 months
- Agency staff may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated
- Fast-paced indoor healthcare environment with exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; PPE required
- Professional dress code and visible ID badge required at all times
