Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS registration for a night shift travel assignment covering OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, vascular, and small parts imaging.
Details
- Hospital-based Diagnostic Imaging department
- Ultrasound imaging performed across multiple specialties: OB/GYN, abdomen, breast, vascular, and small parts
- 4x10-hour night shifts per week
- May float to other departments where clinically qualified before core staff is floated
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience
- ARDMS registration and OBMI certification required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a CAHEA-accredited sonography program or equivalent
- CRASE training preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and push/pull/carry up to 25 lbs frequently
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Serves as an advanced user and in-house training resource for peers, vendors, and applications personnel across all clinical ultrasound applications
- Responsibilities include performing diagnostic sonography procedures, evaluating image quality, preparing and positioning patients, and assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures
- May prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media or medications as permitted by state statute and institutional policy
- Provides practical instruction to students and other healthcare professionals
- Participates in departmental quality assessment and improvement activities, and may oversee quality control and supply inventory for the assigned area
- Work environment is fast-paced with exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment; PPE use is expected
