Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center, requiring on-call availability and specialized IV therapy skills.
Details
- Work setting is a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
- Assignment is in the Cath Lab unit
- Shifts are 10-hour days, 7:30a–4p or 7:30a–8p
- On-call hours run 8p–7:30a on weekdays; weekend and holiday on-call is 24 hours (7:30a–7:30a)
- On-call is required approximately once per week to fill gaps in the permanent team's schedule
- Every other weekend (EOW) is not required
- No floating required
- Charting is done in Epic
- Required IV therapy skills include blood product administration, implanted port care and maintenance, IV infusion pumps, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; candidates with 1.5 years of experience may be considered if that experience is from a Level I Trauma Center or large hospital
- Trauma center experience at a large facility is required
- Proficiency with blood product administration, implanted ports, IV infusion pumps, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions required for consideration
- One professional reference required for consideration

- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed
- Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
