Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / Cardiovascular Technologist for a 13-week travel contract, with candidates qualifying via either an ARRT-R license or RCIS certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Cardiac Cath Lab setting within a community hospital
- Procedures include cardiac catheterization (left and right heart), PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, temporary pacemaker placement, pacemaker insertion, cardioversion, AICD insertion/programming, and EP studies
- Vascular and interventional procedures include angioplasty, carotid stenting, endovascular interventions, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, TIPS, upper and lower extremity angiography, IVC filter placement, dialysis graft interventions, and central venous access/port placement
- Additional procedures include embolization, liver biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, ERCP, gastrostomy tube placement, nephrostomy, ureteral and renal artery stent placement, and neurological thrombolysis/thrombectomy
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with variable days of week
- On-call requirement of one night per week and one weekend every 4 weeks
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from any Legacy facility — local candidates are not accepted
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- Candidates must qualify under one of two tracks: (1) Licensed Radiology Technologist with ARRT-R and LRT-R, or (2) RCIS certification
- Current ACLS and BLS required for both tracks
- Oregon state license or proof of OR license application/fingerprints required for consideration
- Washington state license required
- One Charge, Supervisor, or Manager reference (preferably within the last year) required for consideration
- No felony background hits — a traveler statement and relevant documentation must be provided for consideration
- First-time travelers are eligible for this position
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Scrubbing and maintaining a sterile field is a core procedural responsibility
- Accurate hemodynamic monitoring is expected
- Skills in rotablader, coil embolization, venous access, and peripheral procedures are preferred
- Travelers must complete any assigned education modules within one week of starting the assignment
- Pre-start modules and compliance requirements are non-billable and average 4–8 hours to complete
- No RTO (requested time off) is permitted within the first 2 weeks; maximum of 7 days RTO for the contract; all RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Return staff are subject to a 1-year separation rule before being eligible to return
- Former employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before re-engagement
