American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, ACLS certification, and an active FL or compact RN license.

Details

  • CVICU setting within a hospital environment
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
  • Every other weekend required, or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period based on unit needs
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating is required to all four affiliated hospitals (Cape Canaveral, Palm Bay, and Viera locations in addition to home base facility)
  • Interfacility floating for critical staffing needs is rare but possible; float assignments prioritize ICU-to-ICU before PCU
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit need and manager approval prior to offer

  • Prior Neuro ICU or SICU experience required
  • 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) from within the past year required for consideration
  • Flu vaccine required between 10/31–3/31; medical or religious exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates who have previously held an internal contracted position must wait at least 1 year after separation before being eligible
  • As this facility is located in a hurricane zone, travelers are required to work pre- and post-storm shifts during hurricane season (beginning in May)
  • Holiday coverage is required — candidates must be available to work one of the following: Memorial Day or 4th of July
  • All time-off requests must be finalized and submitted upfront; RTO will not be accepted after an offer is made
  • Time and attendance tracked via Kronos using a badge swipe system
