Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and acute care and trauma experience for an adult rehabilitation services unit at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Adult Rehab Services unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- Acute care and trauma patient population
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- Acute care and trauma experience required
- Proficiency in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities
- Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures
- Evaluate patients across areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, and psychosocial skills
- Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, treatment frequency, and duration
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, and provide instruction in joint protection and body mechanics
- Support discharge planning by ordering equipment and educating patients and families on home therapy programs
- May supervise OT students
- Workers who have previously completed a contract are eligible for one extension, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before beginning a new contract
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
