Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a rural Level 4 Trauma hospital in Moab, UT, covering a broad patient population from neonates to geriatrics on a 7-on/7-off schedule.

Details

• Rural hospital setting designated as a Level 4 Trauma center
• Med/Surg unit serving a wide range of patient populations, including medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, pediatric, and post-partum/neonatal cases
• Night shift schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, 6PM–6AM
• 13-week contract
• Opportunities to cross-train in post-partum care, infusion and wound therapies, the Emergency Department, and/or PACU

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered UT RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS and PALS required or ability to obtain within one year
• Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and medication/treatment adverse reaction prevention
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including in rapidly changing clinical situations

Additional Information

• Provide direct and indirect patient care across medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, pediatric, and post-partum populations
• Blue scrubs are preferred
• Holiday coverage required for: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
• Pre-employment drug test and background check required
• Located in Moab, UT — a unique desert community near Arches and Canyonlands National Parks with year-round outdoor recreation
