Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3-5 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.
Details
- High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 rooms and an average daily census of 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
- Unit is equipped with 4 ORs and utilizes electronic fetal monitoring
- Medications include Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- EMR: Epic (required)
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–7:30)
- Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs, with every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and may include floating to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or valid Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Minimum 3-5 years of L&D experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment required; 5+ years of high-risk L&D experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be able to circulate in the OR
- Must be proficient in newborn care, including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K (thigh) injections, and newborn assessments
- Must be able to function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to Postpartum
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Active professional license required at time of consideration
- Proof of required certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent staff of any Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; candidates cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Former permanent staff of other Providence (non-Swedish) facilities are eligible after a separation of at least 3 months
- Minimal RTO is expected; time off requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
