Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Procedures Technologist with an IR background, ARRT (R) certification, and at least 1 year of Special Procedures/Vascular IR experience for a 13-week contract in Charleston, SC.

Details

• Radiology Special Procedures department in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes those requiring interventional radiology and special procedures imaging
• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• On-call requirement of one day per week and every 4th weekend
• Occasional float coverage, including to a nearby sister hospital
• Charting in Cerner

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Special Procedures or Vascular Interventional Radiology, or 2+ years as a Radiologic Technologist
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification required; active SC or compact license required if applicable
• BLS through the American Heart Association required
• Completion of an ARRT-accredited Vascular Interventional Radiology program and ARRT VI certification preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform special procedures and interventional radiology exams under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
• Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
• Responsible for patient safety and age-appropriate care throughout imaging procedures, including obtaining correct orders, preparing patients, and assisting with informed consent
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and comply with DHEC, TJC, and other governing organization standards
• Maintain accurate records and communicate procedure information to radiologists and clinical staff in both verbal and written formats
• Travelers who have been on assignment at this facility must take a 30–60 day break after reaching one continuous year before returning to a new assignment
