Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position covering Adult Medical, Adult Surgical, and Pediatric units, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Works across Adult Medical (3N) and Adult Surgical (2N) units, with potential exposure to a Pediatric unit
• 2N consists of 23 surgical beds; 3N consists of 19 adult beds and 5 pediatric beds
• Patient population includes adult medical, adult surgical, and pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, with LPN and/or CNA support staff assisting with vitals, POC testing, ADLs, and ambulation
• Floating between the Adult Medical and Adult Surgical units (2N/3N) is required
• Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Charting is performed in Meditech
• Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, Phillips vital signs equipment, Vein Viewers, bladder scanners, and POC testing devices

Requirements

• Active RN license in Indiana (IN) or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years
• Copies of certifications and verification of license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Core responsibilities include medication scanning and administration, vital signs monitoring, head-to-toe assessments, IV management, blood administration, POC testing, and isolation precautions
• Unit-based hands-on orientation provided with a preceptor; HR manages any additional organizational onboarding requirements
• Dress code requires clean, neat scrubs in any color (no denim), closed-toe and closed-heel shoes, earrings only (no other visible piercings), and long hair pulled back
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and a different pay rate applies
